FREDONIA, NY --

State University of New York at Fredonia has identified the site where it will build a $4.7 million high-tech incubator.

To be located in the city of Dunkirk, the 22,000 square foot center will house up to 15 start-up companies needing high-tech infrastructure to operate.

In addition to incubation, the center will offer education about business plans, venture capital basics and other business basics.

SUNY faculty will operate the facility and will partner with local organizations such as the City of Dunkirk, the Dunkirk-Sheridan Empire Zone, the Chautauqua Workforce Investment Board and the Dunkirk Local Development Corp.

Beginning of construction is expected in the middle of 2007.
